Patient Information

Your Appointments

Our three convenient loactions schedule routine patient examinations and urgent "must see" appointments. Please try and plan well ahead for routine examinations so that we may best accomodate your schedule. For your added convenience you may schedule an appointment at any of our office locations through our Centralized Scheduling at (804) 285-8806.

For urgent health situations please call during regular working hours to arrange for care on a non-emergency basis. Our policy is to examine any patient that requires care as soon as possible and always within 24 hours.

We truly respect and honor your time and will make every effort to see you at your scheduled appointment time. However, our physicians may be delayed due to an unscheduled delivery, a complication which requires immediate care, or simply a patient that required more care than anticipated. If delayed we will make every effort to minimize your inconvenience and ask for your patience and understanding.

If you need to change your appointment please call at least 24 hours in advance or at the earliest time possible so that we may allow that time for another patient.

Your First Visit

We thank you for choosing Commonwealth Ob/Gyn Specialists and we hope that your first visit will be the beginning of a long relationship. We will want to learn all about you at your first visit so that we can best serve your needs. To avoid delays please arrive 15 minutes early, and bring any medical records, medications, insurance information and referrals necessary to facilitate this introductory process.

Prescription Requests

For your convenience we provide a Prescription Refill line at (804) 285-8806. At the prompt press option 4, and leave a message. Please request refills well in advance of running out of your medication. We review prescription requests several times daily and will review your records to be certain that a refill follows your best course of treatment.

Test Results

Our clinical staff will call you with test results once your physician has carefully reviewed the information. Please understand this may take a few days, usually 7-10 business days. Some tests, such as Pap Smears, may take as long as four weeks. If your report indicates any abnormal findings or more testing is needed, your physician will call you to discuss her recommendations.

Patient Confidentiality

All medical records are strictly confidential. We will not release your medical record or any part of your record without your authorization to do so. A fee may be assessed for photocopying records.
